22+ Months of Pure Sweetness

I may be counting months forever and ever on this baby of mine because I simply do not want her to be TWO! I want her to stay just as she is, forever and ever.

Especially since I watched a show tonight where the one and only child was graduating high school. I may have bawled a little, because I am so sure that that time went by quickly.

Now, I say she is "Pure Sweetness" because I'm fairly certain she is tender hearted, even though she may throw temper tantrums and hit her mommy from time to time, she is mostly full of love and doesn't want any one sad. How do I know? Because I have witnessed her multiple times start crying only because another child is sad. My wish for her is that she is always aware of her peers feelings, because I don't think there are enough children out there that are.

I also know she is sweet because she is always making sure I am OK. And I always have to say, wait a minute, I'm the mommy here!! But if she thinks I hurt myself she asks, "ok??" The other day as I was sitting on the floor trying to blow dry my hair feeling awful, Emmy quickly picked up a brush and was helping me. When I am cooking, she wants to help. She says, "I try?" Of course I have to let her try--how else would she learn!

One of my most favorite moments from the past week would have to be when we were laying in bed, because I love her so much of course she was laying in my bed! However, it was one of those nights that I just wanted to lay there, so she got the iPad and was watching a movie. I had my eyes closed, so she must have thought I was sleeping, and I felt her, very gently, kiss my forehead. That didn't just happen once, she continued to do it every few minutes.

The last few Sundays, Emmy has been quite the singer. She will open the hymn book during the hymns and belt out her little gibberish.

Even though she has her moments where she is most definitely going-on-two-years-old, moments like these remind me just how pure she still is. What a blessing it is to be trusted by my Heavenly Father to raise this little girl to become all that she can be. I hope she always has these sweet tendencies to her, and that she shows others those qualities so that the world may be a better place because of her.

I know my world is a better place because of her. All 22 months of her.

Emmy: 2013

[I found a cute little questionnaire on Pinterest about the year in review, and since Emmy can't fill it out herself yet, I'm going to for her! Since I'm her mom I pretty much know her thoughts. haha]

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Name: Emmy Lou
Age: 22 months
Favorite color: Pink
Favorite food: Pizza and nanas
Favorite activity: Putting stickers everywhere
Favorite book: All of them as long as I'm reading them and not mom.

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2013
Greatest lesson learned: Mom usually says no. "Daddyyyyyy" always says yes. He's a sucker.
Hardest thing this year: Moving away from Mimi and Aunt Lindsey. Mom says she can't hold me alllll the time.
Favorite memory: Disney World. Daddy should let us go again in 2014.
What I loved about 2013: I became a toddler. Which pretty much means I can do everything by myself.

LOOKING FORWARD TO 2014
Want to learn: Colors
Want to get better at: Counting. "Two" is pretty much all I can count, so I just say "two, two, two" for "one, two, three".
Goals for 2014: Potty train. I seriously hate wearing these diapers. So when mom changes me I kick and scream. Maybe she will get the message and throw away the diapers.

Busy 4 Months

We FINALLY have internet and I also got a sweet new desktop computer-which is perfect for all things pictures and blogging, oh, and soon school. Hopefully I will start updating this a little more frequently. ;)

September-
Aunt Lindsey came to visit! We went to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole since she hadn't seen either one. Emmy wouldn't let her out of her sight, even to the point where she absolutely had to sleep with us and was usually found spooning her Aunt Lindsey. It was a short visit and I don't think Emmy or I were ready for her to leave.

FaIr WeEk... which is always a blast. But what made this week even more fun for me is that I finally got a new car! Don't get me wrong, I loved the Hummer, but it just was not cutting it. Besides the fact that it obviously gets awful gas mileage (and we like to make trips to SLC quite often), it was also hardly making it up hills. I had semis passing me! That's a problem! Also, getting Emmy up into that monster was a chore. Now that I have a little car, I just stand there and put her in easy. Soon she will be able to climb in all by herself, and I can't wait!!
Lucky for us, shortly after Lindsey left, Emmy's Mimi showed up! Just like she had been stuck to Lindsey's hip while she was here, she was also stuck to Mimi. Turns out she even runs to Mimi at the airport when she gets in her line of vision. While my mom was here, we did a LOT of shopping, even went to Salt Lake so that she could see City Creek for the first time. We had a lot of fun having Mimi here, so of course neither of us let her sleep much. I imagine she was exhausted when she got back home.

Emmy started going to NURSERY! She really enjoys it, she just has to be reminded every week that she likes to go. We usually end up staying the first hour with her, then sneaking out during the second because it takes her that long to decide it's ok to get off of our laps.

October-
Emmy started back to Kindermusik, which is only one day a week, but we look forward to it.
Halloween! It was a lot of fun with Emmy this year. She caught on pretty quick to knocking on doors to get some candy. I can't even imagine holidays without this little girl. She makes everything so much more exciting!
I learned how to crochet! Logan's grandma Joy taught me one afternoon. It was a blast and now I can make cute winter things for me and Emmy.
During the summer, I won some Lagoon tickets from a radio station. We decided to save them until Frightmares so when Logan came home for Halloween we went. Emmy was able to ride a few rides, her favorite being the Carousel. We also rode the train quite a few times. Close to the evening they start letting out the creepy people to "scare"so we didn't want to stay too late so that Emmy wouldn't get scared, well, turns out they still got me. One of the zombies came up behind me and was breathing on my neck. I honestly thought it was just someone being weird in line so I whispered some words and scooted up. Of course Logan thought it was hilarious, but I was ready to leave at that point. haha

Logan, Emmy, and I went to the ranch for a few days to ride the four wheeler and fish. One day we even packed a picnic and went by the river and had lunch. On our way to the river, we had quite a bit to hike, and Emmy did most of it herself. She is pretty outdoorsy and she did not get that from me!

Emmy got a fishing game!

November-
Logan loves going to Salmon, Idaho, to camp and fish, so we decided to take the camper up there for a few days. Well, I clearly didn't know what I was agreeing to, because we got up there and had no power (and it was way too cold to not have power), and the sun only shone through the little crack of the mountains for maybe 20 minutes then it was gone again. I. Was. Dying. So, versus a couple nights there, it ended after one night. Logan is now allowed to go there all by himself. I will no longer say he should take us with him. Ha! It was pretty for picture, just not my cup of tea.

Towards the end of the month we flew to GEORGIA!!! Emmy is a gem while flying, probably because she is obsessed with her iPad. However, despite how good she is, I sure can't wait until she can have a seat of her own. There is seriously not enough space for two people in those seats.
When we got there, we were able to spend time with my mom, dad, sister, and brother, then we all headed to Missouri to see my mom's side of the family over Thanksgiving weekend.

December-
While in Georgia, we did a lot of shopping (which was proven when my bag was 15 lbs. heavier than when I left). Since Lindsey is getting married in May, some of the shopping was to get ready for her wedding. We found her dress while I was there! Which was super fun to be there for. My mom and I were actually the ones to pick out her dress because we saw it and slipped it in with the other dresses while she was busy doing something else, and it turned out that it was exactly what she wants!
In North Georgia, there is the Babyland General Hospital, apparently where the only cloth Cabbage Patch baby  dolls can be bought. One morning my sister and I decided to take Emmy there, not quite knowing what to expect. It was probably one of the weirdest and creepiest places I have ever been to. There were teens and adults that were way too old to be playing with baby dolls by themselves that were there picking out babies and acting as if they were real. But, we couldn't leave without a momento, so Emmy got to pick out a baby doll and "adopt" it.

Emmy was able to open her Christmas presents from my family before we left. My mom had gotten Emmy a baby doll car seat and water baby. Well, Emmy has a favorite baby doll that we had brought and she had that baby in the car seat wrapped up in a blankie, so while she wasn't looking, my mom put the water baby she had gotten her in the car seat next to Emmy's favorite baby. When Emmy saw it she FREAKED out! She got in the water baby's face and yelled "NOOOO!!!!!" and ripped her out of the seat, then proceeded to ask her favorite baby if she was "ok?" She still occasionally will be caught yelling at this water baby and not treating it as nice as the other babies. It's kind of strange haha.
Unfortunately, we had to leave Georgia before Christmas, but I am so glad we were able to spend a few weeks there.
